MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT!
/In a very short space of time we are about to pull off quite an astonishing feat. Following negotiations with our extraordinary cabaret performers, Chapel Off Chapel, the technical team and partners the show can go on!
To work within the easing restrictions, within the space of 24-hours we have totally reconfigured the entire festival, moving shows to later dates in the festival to enable full rehearsals to take place.
For these changes to be implemented and communicated by our box office team to hundreds of ticket holders, we have suspended ticket sales from now until 12 noon on Monday 14 June 2021. Our website will be updated with the new program by this deadline.
Current ticket holders: the box office team will be in touch via email regarding ticket exchanges over the next couple of days. If the new date and time doesn’t suit, you can request a refund or there may be another date and time available for your show (or even another show that might appeal to you).
Paging All Cabaret Fans: We need your support on this one. Come noon Monday, please share the announcement of the new program on social media as far and as wide as possible.
The Melbourne Cabaret Festival receives no support from the Federal or State Government and are not eligible for their recently announced ‘support’ packages. If you’re able, please make a tax-deductible donation here. A heartfelt thank you to those who have already donated.
Finally, the disruptions caused by the recent lockdown and ongoing border restrictions has resulted in the cancellation of four shows:
- Prinnie Stevens in Lady Sings The Blues
- Nicky Kurta presents Music from The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel
- Trevor Jones Sunday Funday
- Tania de Jong - Songs for Psychedelics – A Magical Mushroom Adventure
Ticket holders have been contacted directly and issued refunds. This decision has not been taken lightly, and we apologise for any inconvenience caused. We were all looking forward to the shows.
